Best Waterproof Makeup
Posted on: July 13, 2011

So in a couple of days I am going to a party that is at night and has a pool. Since everyone is going to swim, I needed to find a good waterproof makeup routine. And I found some amazing products. Some are a little pricey, but its worth the money and will last you all summer! Hope you enjoy!
First is the Estee Lauder Cover Camouflage Makeup
for face and body. This is used for waterproof, but it
stays on! And for a long time too. Next is mascara
which is Maybelline Volume Express Falsies amazing,
again. Not only is it waterproof, but is gives you XXXL
volume.  For eyeliner I prefer not to wear blacks and
browns. I rather wear whites because there light and
brighten up your eyes. I use the Enprani P-Make UP
Waterproof Shine Eyeliner. It does have a little shimmer
in it to give a sparkle in your eye. I don't wear anything
on my lips, usually just my Sally Hanson Vita- B lip
moisturizer. Even though its not waterproof, I like having my lips hydrated. And that does the job! Last is an option that I put on sometimes. It's the Elf Cream Blush in Flirt to the apples of my cheeks.
It gives you a very natural pink tint on your cheeks. It's not waterproof but it does stay because it is a cream.

Essie nailpolish has a new line of gorgeous nail polishes that light up your dull nails. The color I have been craving lately is  Turquoise & Caicos. Let me know what your favorite nail polish is! I wanna try more!

The color is a foam greenish color that reminds me of the beach everytime! It goes on even and unlike other nail polishes, the color is the same as it shows in the bottle. Available at any drugstores.

Quick Question? Have you tried these?

Do you think its worth it to buy these? I keep seeing commercials and in drugstores. Hmm should I try them? If so whats the best color to buy?

Leave me a comment of your favorite
waterproof makeup.
Quick Tip: Making a Spray Tan Last
Posted on: July 14, 2011

Since sunless is always better for your skin (no one wants wrinkles, right?), I suggest getting a spray tan. The key to keeping a spray tan is all in the preparation and maintenance. If you want it to last 7-10 days without blotchy patches, there are a few important things you need know…

First off, you need to prepare for your spray tan. Shower and exfoliate right before your appointment. Make sure the exfoliant you use isn’t oil based though or else it will leave residue on your skin and will keep the spray tan from soaking in correctly. After your shower, do not put any products onto your skin. To get the most out of a spray tan, try exfoliating your entire body 3 times over the course of a week before your spray tan appointment.

After you have been sprayed, give the tan some time to soak in and wait until you're are completely dry before you put on your clothes. For best results, wait at least 8 to 12 hours before you shower.

For your first shower, don’t use any soap—just rinse
Once the water runs clear, step out of the shower and pat yourself dry with a towel (don’t rub, just pat). When you are dry, it’s time to moisturize with a nice hydrating lotion! To maintain your tan, avoid using any exfoliating products (this means: no scrubs, loofahs, washcloths, toner etc.) and opt for a mild cleanser when washing your face and body. Most importantly, stay moisturized! Use thick and creamy lotions to lock in moisture to keep you tan even and smooth. I cannot emphasize this enough—it’s so, so important to keep your skin hydrated. If possible, try to moisturize twice a day—in the morning and at night before bed.

Also, one of my best tips for making a spray tan last is to use a gradual tanning lotion to moisturize with everyday, such as Jergens Natural Glow. If you use this daily, it can help extend your tan for up to 15 days and will prevent any blotchiness! Just make sure you wash your hands after using this kind of lotion (trust me, you don’t want orange palms).

If you follow all of these tips, your tan should last a little over a week!

How to get the perfect red lips

A lot of people think wearing a red lip is too bold for them or won’t go well with their skin—but red is actually one of the most universally flattering shades on skin! I think everyone should at least try it out once at home (if you don’t like it, you can take it right off)… Don’t hate till you try! You may be pleasantly surprised! Now for those of you wondering how to perfect a lusciously lovely red lip… Look no further—I’ll tell you how in just 5 easy steps!Prep-Step: Be sure your lips are very smooth (exfoliate if you need to), conditioned and dry.
1. Line
  • Using a very sharp lip pencil (for a classic red look, use MAC Lip Pencil in Redd) carefully line your lower lip. I suggest starting from the outside of the mouth and lining inwards from each side. Then fill in the lower lip. (Warning: You might look a little silly at this point. LOL).
  • Next, line the upper lip starting from the Cupid’s bow and lining outwards all the way to the corners. Then color in the upper lip. Don’t stress about coloring your lips in perfectly—this is simply a base for the lipstick and will make the final color vibrant and full.
  • 2. Stick
    • Using a lip brush (I suggest MAC 316 lip brush) apply a creamy lipstick (such as MAC Russian Red) all over your top and bottom lips. Be sure to fill in your lips completely.
    3. Gloss
    • Apply a thin layer of tinted gloss (I love MAC Dazzleglass in Love Alert) over the top and bottom lips.
    • Then apply a clear gloss to the center section of the bottom lip (I recommend Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Extreme in Sheer Clear… a little added pluming action never hurt anyone).
    4. Clean
    • To prevent feathering (color beading beyond the lip line) apply concealer (I use NW20 MAC concealer and a MAC 195 concealer brush) all the way around the lip. Get as close to the lip line as possible without pulling the color out. This step will help set the color in place, too.
    5. And… BAM !
    • Blend the concealer around your mouth and BAM—you’ve got some killer red lips!
Extra Tip: To make your teeth look whiter, use a red lipstick with a blue undertone—orange undertones usually enhance the yellow in your teeth!
